Some of my best long trades in 2016 have been gold stocks. I always say trade gold stocks and buy physical silver. You don't have to go overboard but it is good to have some exposure.
Gold chart priced in Australian dollars at 1,753.54 the old high in 2011 1,781.44. If we see further weakness in the $USD I think is has a very good chance of taking out the high.

If you look where gold stocks were in 2011 and where they are now with gold only $28.00 below the high, I don't think it takes a genius to see that gold stocks are way oversold
